Coffee Machine
This is the good setting for an espresso, more or less: 4.0 seconds and grounding around 1. The grinder can have two settings at the time, but the first one is broken at the moment. That’s why it’s on the “two cups” setting.
If you want a lungo, change the time to around 6.5 and use either the thing in the left, or if you prefer more coffee foam, the thing on the right. If you take the second option, please keep in mind the black plastic inlay that goes into the hole before you apply the metal sieve.
To make a lungo/double espresso with the bialetti, set the timer to around 6.0 and the grind level to 4.
Isopods
If you are around on a Tuesday or Wednesday, they would love to get moisturized. Add around 5 spoons of water on the side where there was not the hole in the lid. Then spray that side generously around 10 times. Don’t worry, isopods are related to shrimps and need a high humidity in the air to breathe.
I gave them enough leaves to survive our holidays easily. But they would be grateful for some proteins. Disperse around 10 of this little pellets everywhere. You can also crumble them up if you feel like it. Don’t forget to watch them eating. It’s cute. The smaller ones are a bit shy, so don’t expect too much action.
These here are even simpler, just lift the lid and spray them generously around 10 times. Then watch the white little springtails run around. There is on specific isopod in here, who is very funny. He likes to come close.
Plants
- Mist spray all the ferns and jungle cacti generously.
- The papyrus like to have moist soil. That’s easy with the one in Adrian’s room. The other one, maybe water twice or even three times but with less water.
- Some of the hanging plants might drip if you give too much water.
- Please also give some water to the plants on the loggia.
Compost
If you have vegetable scraps, feel free to give it to the wormies. Look at the poster on the fridge on what is ok (actually everything except citrus, and they don’t seem to be too fond of potato and avocado peels). Cut it roughly and as long as you can close the lid of the compost, you’re good.
Washing
Monday and Tuesday are the neighbors’ days. But they are nice and, if asked, usually change gladly. Wednesday is our day. Sunday is for Felix on the top floor. The machine takes small coins and is actually broken. You can wash for hours on end with just -.50
Rooms
Above Florence’s room is Tim, a sarcastic teenager. He is super calm during the evening, except for when he cleans and organizes his room at 22:00, which he does every few weeks. Above Adrian’s room is Tanja, who walks heels first, often goes to bed around 23:30 (nurse with late evening shifts) or comes home in the middle of the night after partying.
TerreVision Gemüsekorb / Panier des legumes
Vegetables can be picked up on Tuesday evening between 17:00 and 19:30 at Gärbi (Map). The vegetables will be loose, so bring bags. On Korb der Woche | Terre Vision you can see what’s on the menu for the week. We have the “Kleiner / Petit”, and also 6 eggs, and don’t forget to make a cross on the list at the entrance. Feel free to ask for help if things are not clear. We’re always very nice. If you’re lucky, you’ll meet Nicolas who is very talkative.
